The Healthwing of the National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS), Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has organised a career development webinar aimed at equipping students with essential skills for writing effective and competitive curricula vitae (CVs).
The webinar, titled “Writing the Irresistible CV: How to Present Your Best Self on Paper,” was held on Friday, 12th of June, 2026, and was open to all Danfodites. The session featured Warith A. Tiamiyu, Founder of EBA Network, as the facilitator, while Sebiotimo Abdullateef A., a 300-level Nursing Sciences student and PRO of NAOSS-UDUS Healthwing, served as the moderator.
Delivering the training, the facilitator, Warith A. Tiamiyu, stressed the importance of investing time in carefully crafting a strong Curriculum Vitae (CV), as it creates the first and most lasting impression of a person, even before they are invited for an interview.
“Crafting a remarkable CV is the first step to remarkable opportunities. Your CV is your professional passport, make sure it’s stamped with excellence,” he added.

Speaking with DIGEST PRESS, one of the participants, Nafisat Taofeek, a 300-level Nursing Science student, described the session as informative and impactful, noting that it provided valuable lessons on professional CV writing and personal branding.
“The session was highly informative, practical, and impactful. It provided valuable insights into professional CV writing and highlighted the importance of presenting one’s skills, experiences, and achievements effectively to prospective employers,” she said.
She added that the training improved her understanding of CV structure, formatting, presentation of personal information, and the importance of tailoring applications to specific opportunities. According to her, the session also highlighted common mistakes applicants should avoid when preparing their CVs.
Another attendee, Radiyah Olurode, a 400-level Medical Laboratory Science student, described the webinar as a valuable learning experience that exposed participants to the key elements of a strong CV.
“I feel happy and fulfilled to have attended. I learnt how to write an award-winning CV. I gained insights on the key components of a CV and the details that shouldn't be included. I also got to know the difference between a résumé and a CV. Overall, it was an excellent and engaging session,” she said.
Moderator Encourages Attendees
The moderator, Sebiotimo Abdullateef explained that the initiative was motivated by the increasing number of students missing out on internships, scholarships, and employment opportunities due to poorly prepared CVs.
According to him, many students possess valuable skills and experiences but fail to communicate them effectively through their applications, leading to unsuccessful outcomes. The webinar was therefore designed to help students create CVs that better represent their abilities and improve their chances of securing opportunities.
In his closing remarks, the moderator encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained from the session, stressing that CV writing is a valuable skill that can also create income opportunities.
“It is very easy to attend a session and just nod to whatever the facilitator is saying, but one of the most important things is to put them into practice. Knowing how to write a CV can also be a source of income,” he said.
